One VERY good possibility is that your voltage regulator is pooping out. When mine on the bronco started going I would have to jump the truck every couple of days. Just before I found the problem it would take only about two hours for the battery to COMPLETELY drain. Start with the simple stuff first. Wait, I'm not sure if your voltage regulator is in with the alternator or not. Anyone ? My voltage regulator is mounted on the passenger side fender well, next to the starter selenoid as is most votlage regulators that are not integral to the alternator. Anyways get the regulator looked at. A voice from experience: Because of my voltage regulator problem I ended up knowing where EVERY one of my wires ran, every harness, and every instrument panel wire/bulb. That stuff is good to know, but if you START with the simple checks you may come out ahead. :-) - -- Thanks, Rick Wojo '83 Fsize BRONCO,Stock I-6,"The BROWN BULL",33x12.5x15-Mud Blasters '92 Mstng 5.0L '95 eclipse-Wife's(For Sale) == FTE: Unsubscribe and posting info www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 11 Jun 1998 09:04:43 -0500 From: "Audian Paxson" Subject: FTE 80-96 - Did my truck tow a lot in it's previous life? I just bought a 91 F150XLT xt-cab with the 5.0 V8. While taking my brother for a ride yesterday he asked me if the person that owned it before me did a lot of towing with it? I said I don't know, how would I? He asked if the transmission is ever sluggish or hesitant to change gears promptly and smoothly. Well it does, usually from 1st>2nd or 2nd>3rd depending on speed and rate of acceleration. Is this bad? It is irritating I know that. Is it expensive to correct? apaxson == FTE: Unsubscribe and posting info www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 10 Jun 1998 13:28 -0600 From: "Chad D. Cassetty" Subject: RE: FTE 80-96 - 4DI? for Chad Cassity. Sorry for the delay in my response. I've been out with the flu. As for the 4Di on a 4x4, we have it on a Jeep CJ. It's great. If you're into serious 'wheeling it is something you should check into, as fuel starvation at ridiculous angles is no longer a problem. As for real-world testimonies from non-employees, I don't know anyone personally. Let me tell you this right up front, just because I work for Holley does not mean that I am in "marketing mode" when I'm on the list. I will do my best to relay the truth about anything you ask. Have you had any feedback on the 4DI by people that have installed it on a 4x4???
