They usually have 4.10's or something like that in them. 4.10's is a plus when buying a rear end because if you don't use them, you can sell them pretty easy. The 2.71 gears should keep the price lower. Most people buying a 9 inch don't want that high of a gear and they're basically throw aways. Also, the 28 spline axles are a little bit harder to come by than the 31 spline, but that shouldn't be much of a concern. The disc brakes is a definite +++. period. Sounds like it must be out of a Mustang, but I don't think they even had rear disc brakes on the Mustangs until the 8.8 rear ends. So I would say this is probably an ....
