I want to keep the 239 flathead in place and keep the stock axles. The trans has got to go,I would like to put an automatic in it's place. I remember reading somewhere that a C4 would bolt in, but I cant find any information about this. Can anyone help me? I'm also looking to get some info on powder coating for the heads. Tom Grover ------------------------------ >From kpayne To: FORDTRUCKS Number of subscriptions has hit 100! I had expected it to hit 100 on Friday as the new sign-up rate has been 10 per day but the number dropped dramatically - probably due to Valentine's Day as the number of postings has also dropped during this period. Also, digest format is under testing. So far so good. Will keep everyone updated as to when this will be available. When I turn the key on, they go thru the normal cycle and go out. But at the first brake application they come back on. The brakes seem to working fine. Fluid level is OK. The diagnostic code I get is 4 flashes, which, according to my Chilton's, means "RABS valve switch closed". Is the valve unit stuck/broken/need replacement? Can it be repaired or is a replacement item? It looks expensive. Or is it something simpler (and cheaper)? Any insight into this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks... Mark markem ------------------------------ >From ssilverthorn To: FORDTRUCKS Chuck, About 2 or 3 months ago there was an article in Truckin magazine in the "Ford Forever" editorial written by Garry Pratt. In this article it listed all the known Ford Truck clubs in Canada and the US. Good Luck, Steve At 08:34 PM 2/16/97 -0500, you wrote: >Hi: > >My son is restoring a 50 Ford pickup. That'd be like the scene in the movie where the guy was crying because he found *apanese parts in his Hog... I guess in this day of global manufacturing, sourcing, etc., anything is possible. I doubt they were invented offshore, though. We invent everything over here, and then everyone else rips us off, miniaturizes whatever we make, and then sells it for less. >What does Helm charge for a complete engine manual and is a truck manual >available?
