Jim,

I appreciate your help and I will re-check my MAP circuit later today if I feel better and it is warm enough outside. I am just getting over the flu. As I said before, I have already replaced the MAP sensor. I think I will try and clear my codes and start again.

Thanks,

I have a 1952 ford F-1, that I would like to build as a fifty's style hot rod.
I want to keep the 239 flathead in place and keep the stock axles.
The trans has got to go,I would like to put an automatic in it's place.
I remember reading somewhere that a C4 would bolt in, but I cant find any information about this. Can anyone help me?
I'm also looking to get some info on powder coating for the heads.

Number of subscriptions has hit 100! I had expected it to hit 100 on Friday as the new sign-up rate has been 10 per day but the number dropped dramatically - probably due to Valentine's Day as the number of postings has also dropped during this period.

Also, digest format is under testing. So far so good. Will keep everyone updated as to when this will be available.

Everyone please remember that you cannot unsubscribe by sending email to FORDTRUCKS lofcom.com, you must send it to list-request lofcom.com. I've put a form on the Ford Trucks List web site to handle unsubscribing automatically. Also included there is a link to the L.O.F. Communications subscription page. This handy page lets you put in your name in addition to your email address when subscribing (if case your name isn't included in your postings you can unsubscribe and resubscribe using this page). Also, this page lets you subscribe to any of the emailing lists available through LOF Com with one easy to use form. I had my own subscription form but it wasn't as good and it also was re-inventing the wheel so now it's only a HELP/UNSUBSCRIBE form.

Hi:

My son is restoring a 50 Ford pickup. He would like to find a club or association dealing with classics in the Puget Sound area. If you know of any I would really appreciate addresses or phone numbers.

Thanks very much.

To: FORDTRUCKS lofcom.com

After a hard stop last week to avoid an idiot who ran a stop sign, the ABS and
brake warning lights are on in my 93 Ranger. When I turn the key on, they go thru the normal cycle and go out. But at the first brake application they come
back on. The brakes seem to working fine. Fluid level is OK. The diagnostic code I get is 4 flashes, which, according to my Chilton's, means "RABS valve switch closed". Is the valve unit stuck/broken/need replacement? Can it be repaired or is a replacement item? It looks expensive. Or is it something simpler (and cheaper)?

Any insight into this will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks...

Chuck,

About 2 or 3 months ago there was an article in Truckin magazine in the "Ford Forever" editorial written by Garry Pratt. In this article it listed all the known Ford Truck clubs in Canada and the US.

Good Luck,
Steve

Try resetting the computer by disconnecting the battery cable for 30 seconds.
This worked for me on a Dodge truck.

I am in the process of restoring a 1947 Ford Panel Van. It is the only one that I have ever seen (aside from a picture in a Shop Manual).

It has the same frame and cab as a pickup, except that it has a van body instead of a box. And that is all I know.

Do you have, or can you point me towards information about this vehicle?

Engine 6E - 8169
Trim MC - 18001 - E
Paint M - 1800 - B
Code 201H47 - 66948

Thanks,

Mitch Miller

Man, I hope not. That'd be like the scene in the movie where the guy was crying because he found *apanese
parts in his Hog...

I guess in this day of global manufacturing, sourcing, etc., anything is possible. I doubt they were invented offshore, though. We invent everything over here, and then everyone else rips us off, miniaturizes whatever we make, and then sells it for less.

Helm Prices for 1996 F-Series (from order form in Owner's Manual)

FCS-12107-96 F-150 - 350 Service Manual $ 90.00 FCS-12106-96 Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis 160.00 FCS-12137-96 Light Truck Service Specifications 32.00 FCS-12129-96 F-150 - 350 Electrical/Vacuum/Troubleshooting 30.00

I got the service manual, "spec book", and the EVTM. I don't know how useful the Powertrain control doc will be without the diagnostic equipment that Ford makes/uses...(Helm screwed up the order three times, so it may take a while to get 'em all)....
